I’ve had so many positive comments about the garden today, I thought I would make a real effort to note what’s actually in out in flower now. So, in no particular order, I make it 65, counting all the different Narcissus as one, and ignoring the hybrid tulips which aren’t really out yet:
Erythronium ‘Pagoda’
Lunaria annua
Anemone nemorosa
Vinca major
Vinca minor var. oxyloba
Euphorbia palustris
Euphorbia polychroma
Kerria japonica
Kerria japonica ‘Flore Plena’
Fritilaria meleagris (purple and white forms)

Magnolia ‘Sundew’
Viola labradorica
Caltha palustris
Aponogeton distachyos (Water hyacinth)
Winter aconite (not sure which one)
And a load of miscellaneous Narcissus
Plus celandines, various violas, yellow rattle, Blackthorn etc.
Not bad for a northern garden in early April!
In addition to the plants I know the name of, here are four that I don’t. Idents, or suggestions welcome!
I think this is Prunus padus, possibly corollata? But it’s a proper shapely tree, not a shrubby thing.
This gorgeous Pulmonaria has been in flower for a month. Lovely delicate pale blue and pink. Pretty.![](http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UucoVyOu-2M/TaDcL9gVsvI/AAAAAAAABk8/nCMYAFTTyYM/s320/IMG_2807.JPG)

Is the muscari M latifolium?
Thank you – yes it is. I think I decided it was some sort of Scilla and went down a blind alley. Ta!
I love muscari – that two shades of purpley blue is particularly lovely at this time of year. The pure white ones are good too.
Is the pulmonaria "opal"? It is described as having pearly-blue flowers – but mine are nearly white
K
Karen – I've read that 'Opal' is the earliest, and this was very early. But I can't see anyone describing this as pearly blue – it's so plainly white, though not brilliant, solid white….
The other one is really lovely – the usual Pulmonaria pink to blue hues, but all pastel. Really nice. May have to go and find the national collection holder one spring
